Gato

Chef, restauranteur and television personality Bobby Flay wanted to create a restaurant that lived and breathed Mediterranean food, drink and design, and so Gato was born, located in NoHo, within a 100 year-old building.

Flay, who owns the restaurants Bar Americain, Bobby Flay Steak and Bobby Burger Palace also has shows on the Food Network and runs a popular fitness blog. He also previously owned Spanish restaurant BOLO, but since BOLO’s location was knocked down to make room for new developments, Flay wanted to revive his Spanish and Mediterranean outpost with the launch of Gato.

The menu includes tarragon chicken served with crispy potatoes, goat’s cheese and dandelion; saffron linguine served with mussels, garlic and parsley and kale; and wild mushroom paella served with crispy artichokes and egg.

As well as an extensive wine menu, the drinks menu also includes a list of contemporary cocktails such as the Jimmie, made with grapefruit vodka, velvet falernum and lemon, and the G-Note, made with becherovka, bols genever, pear and ginger beer.
