Diamond Reef

The Attaboy crew have pulled a hat trick with a very different kind of bar with a laid back vibe, playful menu and plenty of space.

Any night of the week you can find small clusters of hopeful drinkers loitering outside tiny LES gem Attaboy, waiting their turn for some of the best drinks in town. If you don't fancy hanging out in dark alleys, head over to Diamond Reef on the Crown Heights/Bed-Stuy border where you can drink delicious libations which you can even order from a real life menu (gasp) and be surrounded by larger groups of friends.

In comparison with the former Milk & Honey space, this BK spot is vast with big, wraparound banquettes in a bright aquamarine leather along the wall, a good bar area, complete with a drinks rail for perching and even a nook with bar stools for those days where you want to be slightly away from it all, but cozied up on a couch. There's a vague tropical thing here, with palm tree wall paper, lots of wood and light walls, plus, in warmer months they have a good sized backyard, perfect for catching a few reys.

Just because the vibe is a touch more casual than their previous joint, don't think that the quality is any less, it's just a bit more playful with a slushy menu in addition to their usual tasties. There's also food, that'll be just what you want. Think grilled veggies and seafood, but there's talk of food trucks and good old fashioned BBQ's in the works.
