Taiko at Sofitel the Obelisk by Schilo van Coevorden

An Amsterdam-born Asian restaurant dishing up the exotic flavours and textures of the Far East.

Named after ancient Japanese drums - FYI: live Taiko players perform during weekends - is chef Schilo Van Coevorden’s Asian-inspired restaurant; open within the Sofitel Dubai Wafi - connected to the Wafi Mall. Taiko serves contemporary Asian cuisine created with seasonal produce - expect explosive yet delicate Asian flavours matched with a striking backdrop - think minimalist-chic with dark lighting and modern furniture.

Taking inspiration from many different cuisines, van Coevorden creates a unique fusion of Asian and world classics. Dine on signature salmon and tuna sashimi and beef from the Bincho-tan grill, along with traditional dim sum and succulent Wagyu beef. Or opt for feasting on the eight course tasting menu, featuring the best of Taiko’s offerings.
