Contento

Peruvian-style eatery in the heart of East Harlem, built with accessibility in mind.

Contento’s ethos and tagline is “accessible for all”, and is a purposeful collaboration of sommeliers and social advocates. The design incorporates features for all wheelchair users - including a lower bar counter, slightly higher tables and enough space to navigate comfortably. In addition to its 36 seats inside, there's an outdoor dining shed for up to 14 guests.

The Peruvian-born Chef Oscar Lorenzzi has worked at iconic NYC restaurants including the Waverly Inn, Marseille and Nice Matin. The seasonally-focused menu, reflects influences from his native Peru - with dishes such as aji amarillo slipped into deviled eggs, quinoa cooked in the style of risotto, and ricotta whipped into a fancy huancaina sauce paired with grilled asparagus.
