Caboco is LA’s first modern Brazilian restaurant, and chef Rodrigo Oliveira’s first location outside of Brazil. Oliveira runs two of the most acclaimed restaurants in São Paulo: Mocotó, focused on north-eastern traditional Brazilian cuisine and the newer Balaio, where Oliveira serves updated regional dishes. Now Oliveira has brought this concept to the Arts District.
Expect a hint of California to his modern Brazilian cuisine at this new casual dining concept - adorned with colorful art and decor. The stylish restaurant serves a combination of traditional Brazilian dishes, some of the most popular items from Oliveira’s São Paulo outposts, plus newly conceived dishes only available at this location. Highlights include: torresmo, a crispy seven-layer pork belly served with lime wedges, crispy tapioca bites and moqueca de caju (cashew stew). Caboco is also home to LA’s only artisanal caipirinha bar, where you can order cocktails with Brazil’s signature sugarcane-based liquor cachaça.
