Halloween Holiday Guide - updated

It’s Halloween people; get scary, get weird, get in costume, but most of all get involved. Here are the best parties, parades, dinners, and shows to celebrate the hallow'd holidays this year.

The Decadent: Queen of the Night
Glamorous aerial acrobatics and madcap immersive theater, all performed with a touch of burlesque, alongside a lavish sit-down dinner. The Halloween special evening includes a private post-show tasting menu in the venue’s secret Sugar Lounge with acclaimed chef Ryan Dutch. (October 31st; 7pm).

The Theatrical: Inferno
McKittrick Hotel, the hosts of Sleep No More, are throwing this costume party inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Add on a pre-party Halloween feast of a chance to see the Punch Drunk show itself when you purchase a ticket - $70 to $335 dependent.

The Fright Fest: New York Haunted Hayride
In LA, this attraction has been pulling in a crowd for the past seven years, and now it has finally made its way to New York. Created by Ten Thirty One Productions, the attraction in Randalls Island Park is creeping with ghostly apparitions, psychotic clowns and possessed creatures ready to pounce on you. Prepare to be seriously spooked. (October 8 - October 31).

The Charitable: The Blood Ball
This madcap erotic circus is getting their gothic on tonight, and it’s all for a good cause. The Box may be better known for its burlesque than its charity work, but here you have a bit of both. Proceeds from tonight’s exclusive annual bash - with a Dark Circus theme - are in support of Delete Blood Cancer DKMS helping in the fight against the disease. (October 29th; 8pm - 11pm).

The Arty Party: Fourth Annual Moma PS1 Halloween Ball
This is the hip side of Halloween and that makes it all the more debauched. Past guests have included Robyn and Chloe Sevigny. Details tbc. (October 31st; 8pm - 12am).

The Cinematic: A Nite to Dismember
This hip dinner-and-a-movie venue in Williamsburg is going all out with its third annual all-night horror film fest featuring five decades of fright starting with Poltergeist and ending with Scream. If you make it through the night, they serve breakfast in the morning. (October 31st; 10pm - 8am).

The All-Dayer: Day & Night Brunch Club at the Highline Ballroom
Kick off your Halloween with this globetrotting daytime dance party, bringing a Studio 54 attitude to the brunch ritual. Dress code is strict. (October 31st; 1pm - 7pm).

The Classic: Village Halloween Parade
Every year, around 50,000 people parade along Sixth Avenue, a one-night march of the city’s ghouls and gremlins and everything in between. Costume is compulsory to join the parade or take a place amongst the spectators. (October 31st; 7pm).

The Spooky: A Taste of Magic
The magic show dedicated to fine food and entertainment will be investigating the sèance with the help of world-class illusionist Jason Suran. (October 25th - October 31st; times vary).

The Gastronomic: Fête du Bordeaux
On the eve of Halloween, The Four Seasons hosts its 36th and final Fête du Bordeaux before losing its lease next summer. This year enjoy a six-course dinner alongside an extravagant range of 15 wines. (October 30th; 7pm).

The Cultured: Night of the Living Dead
For this installment of Friday Nights at the Rubin Museum things are getting spooky with signature cocktails such as the Wrathful Deity and Thirsty Ghost; a screening of horror classic Night of the Living Dead; and a chance to see the ‘Becoming Another: The Power of Masks’ exhibit. (October 30th; 9.30pm - 11.30pm).

The Pet Friendly: The Great PUP-Kin
Forget coordinated couples outfits, it’s all about getting your pooch into costume and no better place to strut your four-legged zombie stuff than at this Fort Greene puppy fest. (October 31st; 11am - 4pm).
