Friends of Niños de Guatemala

East Village bar, Holiday Cocktail Bar, has organised a night of drinking to raise funds to help children in Guatemala. This is drinking with a purpose at it's finest.

Holiday Cocktail Lounge is a bar in the East Village known for creating a fun, sing-along envronment that straddles the world of craft cocktails and old school dive. The two brothers who run it, Michael and Danny Neff, have been taking their quality funtimes concept around the world, doing pop-ups and showcases including a trip to Guatamala where they witnissed extreeme poverty, especially amoung the children of Antegua.

Together with the not-for-profit organization, Niños de Guatemala, they are helping to raise funds to build a second level for their middle school so the children can continue their education. On April 8th, for one night only, Holiday Cocktail Lounge along with 5 other bars they've visited around the country, will be offering a special menu with sponsorshop from Ilegal Mezcal, Whistle Pig Rye, and Heaven Hill, where all the proceeds go to the organization and all you have to do to get involved is buy a drink or several.

This event will also be taking place at Celeste in Chicago, Harvard & Stone in Los Angeles,  Interurban Portland in Oregon, Yvonne's in Boston, and Reserve 101 in Houston. They are even planning a synchronized toast at all participating bars.

Their goal is to raise $10,000 in one night, and do it in the best way they know how: getting everyone together and having a great time. If you are unable to attend one of the bars but still wish to be involved, there is an online auction with prizes including a cocktail masterclass and a NYC bar tour with the brothers Neff. Direct donations can also be made Here.
