Bar Douro

Bar Douro is in Flat Iron Square and draws its inspiration from the traditional cerveijarias and tascas of Lisbon and Porto - serving up a contemporary take on Portuguese cuisine alongside expertly sourced regional wines.

Bar Douro is owned by Max Graham, whose family own Churchill’s Port, and also behind Churchill’s Port House pop up in Soho in 2013. Between selling out supper clubs, Max and chef Tiago Santos (previoulsy of Casa da Calcada and The Yeatman Hotel), have spent the past year travelling around Portugal discovering local culinary secrets and sourcing the finest Portuguese produce. Bringing together the fruits of their labour is Bar Douro’s small-plate focused menu.

The carefully curated Portuguese wine list - exploring key wine growing regions and highlighting the huge range of native grape varieties that Portugal has to offer with a focus on independent winemakers to import a selection of wines not currently available in the UK market.

The decor is a contemporary take on classic Portuguese influences, with themes developed alongside architectural designer Steph Gallia and branding agency Studio 91. Located in the heart of Bankside, the Flat Iron Square project consists of a group of railway arches boasting a variety of food offerings and music & entertainment venues. Bar Douro is open 7 days a week, 12 noon until 12 midnight. No reservations.
