Italienne

A bright French & Italian restaurant from acclaimed chef Jared Sippel gives you plenty of options for delicious experiences

Italienne is the first solo venture from acclaimed chef, Jared Sippel, in the Flatiron District. With a creative background from great restaurants like two Michelin Starred 'Quince' in San Francisco and the much lauded 'Frasca Food and Wine' in Boulder, it should come as no surprise that this duo-national restaurant has a lot going on.

The space itself is divided into two areas - the Taverna up front and the dining room out back, and whichever area you reserve (yes, they have different reservation policies!) will deliver two entirely different experiences. Looking to prop up a bar and nibble on small plates with a few friends? Great, hang out in the Taverna where you can enjoy charcuterie platters with gorgeous meats flown in from famous artisanal meat curers 'La Quercia', plus bites like arancini, polpettine and grilled octopus.

The back area is a bit more of a proper sit-down affair with a four-course tasting menu starting at $98 showcasing the true vision of concept. The dishes are bigger and filled with bold flavours that somehow maintain a lightness through super fresh ingredients. Here you will find dishes such as 'duck confit with farro verde, spring onion, and green garlic' and 'Bigoli with rabbit ragout with lentil and mustard greens', taking all the best bits of Southern France and Northern Italy and getting them in your face.
