L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon

After a 4 year hiatus, Chef Joël Robuchon is bringing back his NYC classic fine dining restaurant

When the much loved L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, housed in the Four Seasons Hotel, closed back in 2012, there was speculation if the 2 Michelin starred restaurant was gone for good. Well, after much waiting, it looks like the stars have aligned. It has been confirmed that chef Joël Robuchon will be taking over the space left by the recently shuttered Colicchio & Sons on 10th Ave with plans to reopen his lost New York jewel. With a projected opening time of Spring '17, it looks like the chef has already started pulling in top notch cooks to help bring back the days of glory with Christophe Bellanca returning as executive chef.

One of the big names in fine dining, chef Joël Robuchon has multiple sites around the world flying his name, so it makes sense that he returns to the city. It will be interesting to see how the NYC dining climate has changed in the five years without L'Atelier, and how this new space will come alive.

Robuchon is also meant to be opening a casual restaurant and marketplace called Joël Robuchon Restaurant some time next year in a new development at 100 East 53rd Street.
