London's Best Bars by Simone Caporale

Master of Mixology Simone Caporale shares with U his favourite London bars and cocktail haunts...

Gibson

Located in Old Street and headed up by the former head bartender of Nightjar, Marian Beke, this bar opened not too long ago and it's a cosy spot. As you'd expect, the cocktails are served with beautiful presentation, with lots of different and exciting things to try, from fermented kombucha drink to pickled fruits for a gin martini. Warm and experimental, order the bar's namesake serve for a martini served with a pickled onion as a garnish.

Scarfes Bar at Rosewood Hotel

When you enter this bar you'll feel like you've entered a special dimension. With live music every night and a buzzy crowd, you might even bump into a famous actor having a cocktail at the bar. Styled like an old drawing room, with plush sofas and bookshelves filled with antique books, check out the illustrations of British icons by satirical cartoonist Gerald Scarfe that adorn the walls.

Bar Termini, Soho

This aperitivo bar in the heart of Soho has revived the meaning of the Italian aperitivo. Tony Conigliaro is the genius creator behind it and their different varieties of negroni are simply delicious. The day time coffee offering is curated by the founder of the University of Coffee in London, Marco Arrigo.

Libare Bar at Sartoria, Savile Row

This restaurant bar offers very tasty, beautifully presented snacks in the bar lounge. Inspired by the heritage of tailoring on Savile Row, the team has developed the Savile Row Martini with bergamot and sherry which is outstanding, you must try also the White Spritz which is served with a blood orange ice cube.

Simone Caporale is an internationally renowned bartender, and previously the Head Bartender at the Artesian at The Langham which topped the World’s 50 Best Bars Awards not once, not twice, but four times and notched up numerous accolades, including World’s Best Hotel Bar and International Bartender of the Year.
