Chefs Michael Thompson and Ollie Downey met while working under Simon Rogan at Fera at Claridges - Fodder is the culmination of their experience and training, combining classical French skills, modern British techniques and a passion for produce.
Following sell-out runs at Borough Wines' Brewery Below and Platform 1, Fodder is the latest kitchen resident at Great Guns Social (close to Borough Market and Flat Iron Square), serving a menu of seasonal sharing plates 'for the table', shaking up their usual tasting menu format to a more flexible, casual style of eating. There is also a "Chefs' Choice" option, offering six courses of their favourite dishes for £50 per head.
The menu celebrates "all things wild, local and seasonal, bringing a fresh twist to ‘fine dining’'. Open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner. The concept of locally-sourced products also extends to the bar, where home-made pickled syrups are used as part of a cocktail menu specially created for the duration of the pop-up.
Seasonal suppers
Pork and smoked eel pie with dirty mash; celeriac with confit yolk, oyster mushrooms and three corner leek; cod poached in seaweed butter served with foraged sea vegetables and chicken fat jersey royals, wild garlic dumplings & morels.
