Maiden Shanghai

A luxe Asian-inspired restaurant and lounge opens at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah hotel, offering a fresh take on regional Chinese cuisine.

The first F&B venture from the SKAI group, this homegrown concept combines dining and lounging in an expansive three-storey space, which also encompasses a rooftop lounge boasting stunning city skyline views. Said views are also maximised indoors with floor-to-ceiling windows, where contemporary design in bronze, teal and white is accented by hand-picked antique accessories and art paying homage to iconic Chinese personalities. There are as many as three private dining rooms, complete with exclusive terraces. 

The culinary side of things is ably headed up by Chef Luo Bing (formerly of Hutong in London) who takes the traditional cuisine from four regions - Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing - and gives them a modern twist. Highlights include dishes such as Pickled Salmon, Bing’s Peking Duck, Kung Pao Lobster, Chilean Seabass and Boom Boom Chicken, with creatively crafted drinks to accompany. A dim sum menu is available all day.
