The contemporary decor with not a hint of kitsch, and the only nods to its Arabian roots taking the shape of quirky murals and decoratively placed piles of fez hats set the tone for the subtle, sophisticated food at this hot new venue.
Chef Malouf takes his own Lebanese roots and makes them modern, using high-quality ingredients and a light touch. The Iftar set menu changes weekly, but typically you can expect a selection of dishes as eclectic as Harira soup; Kibbeh saneya; Quail Schnitzel; Ouzi; Zahira's butcher's grill (a thoroughly contemporary take on the classic mixed grill); and Harissa potatoes. On the dessert front, Zahira's 'Art of the Middle East' motto truly comes to life with highly Instagrammable Islamic-inspired tuilles garnishing concoctions such as Chocolate tart with Arabic coffee and Turkish delight; and Peach and apricot pavlova with rose blossom labneh.
Iftar is priced at AED 190 per person, including speciality Ramadan drinks; the regular menu and lounge drinks are also available.
