Eataly

It’s been a long time coming but the Los Angeles outpost of Eataly, the world-famous Italian marketplace, at Westfield Century City, finally opens today.

The 67,000 square feet venue is spread over three floors, featuring enough cafés, take-away counters, and restaurants to keep U coming back for more. And more. Here are some of the highlights:

Speciality Food Counters: meats, cheese, farm-fresh produce, bread, wines and a chocolate counter by the Piemonte company Venchi, where U can find 50 single-wrapped varieties of chocolate.

La Scuola di Eataly by Valcucine: a hands-on cooking school where U'll learn to make regional Italian specialties.

Il Pesce Cucina: a new restaurant from Providence chef Michael Cimarusti, specializing in wild California fish.

La Pizza & La Pasta: serving two styles of pizza in 90 seconds using gold ovens as well as bronze-extruded pastas.

L'Orto Dello Chef: salads and bowls from a changing lineup of local chefs. First up is Jason Neroni from Rose Café.

Terra: A secret rooftop restaurant that will open “soon”
