Aquavit x BFI Supper Club: Agnes Varda

Following a successful first season, Aquavit has again partnered with the BFI to celebrate another legendary filmmaker, Agnes Varda.

Coinciding with a two month retrospective of Varda’s work at the BFI, Aquavit is hosting a one-off screening of Jacquot de Nantes alongside a dinner inspired by the film, hosted inside one of the restaurant’s private dining rooms, on Tuesday 3rd July.

Jacques de Nantes was Varda’s first film celebrating her late husband, French filmmaker Jacques Demy. Using her signature style of mixing fiction with documentary, Varda beautifully reconstructs Demy’s adolescence and his love of theatre and cinema.

Executive Chef Henrik Ritzen has created a special menu to be enjoyed alongside the screening, mixing Nordic flavours with classic French dishes to bring the film’s scenes to life and using ingredients inspired by the film's setting in Nantes. Tickets are priced at £80.
