Les Platanes by Thierry Laborde

Tucked away, in Mayfair's Bruton Place is this contemporary French bistro de luxe, with fine pedigree.

The restaurant (housed in a 19th century townhouse, replacing the short-lived Babel House) is owned by chef-patron Thierry Laborde - formerly head chef at Chabrot Bistrot d'Amis and having worked at Le Gavroche and with Alain Ducasse's Le Louis XV at Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo.  The cuisine celebrates Southern French dining with a menu focused on contemporary reinventions of classic dishes and use of the best French produce from independent suppliers. The keenly priced wine list comprises over 130 bins of the finest examples from the South of France including a selection of Bordeaux, Provence and Languedoc.

Inspired by the iconic trees to line the lanes of Provence and nearby Berkeley Square, Les Platanes takes its name from the French for ‘plane trees’; famous for their historical ties to both London and the South of France and their comforting, revitalising shade. The décor at Les Platanes taking inspiration from classic French bistros.
