Chef Josiah Citrin Joins the Line Hotel

Josiah Citrin, chef and owner of culinary landmark Melisse in Santa Monica, is taking over the food and beverage operations at the Line LA hotel in Korea Town.

The move comes after the hotel’s former chef, Roy Choi, parted ways with owners the Sydell Group after five years. Citrin, who also runs Charcoal in Venice as well as the casual Dave’s Dog House inside the Stapels Center, has already taken over room service.

The erstwhile two-Michelin-starred chef will also be opening two restaurants at the hotel in the fall: one next to the pool deck in the former Commissary space that will offer seasonally inspired food, and another in the hotel lobby that will offer drinks and snacks.

Citrin’s move to the Line hotel is noteworthy not only because it marks his first foray into hotel dining but also because industry rumours suggest that his iconic fine dining restaurant Melisse is likely to close next year after two decades in business.
