Disgusting Food Museum

Challenge Ur own levels of disgust at this new Downtown museum.

Opening on December 9th, the Disgusting Food Museum will display 80 of the world’s most disgusting foods - things like roasted guinea pigs from Peru, stinky tofu from China, and aged shark from Iceland and maggot-infested cheese from Sardinia.

But it’s not meant to only gross U out. The museum aims to help visitors to challenge and re-examine what disgusting actually means to them.

“Disgust is one of the six fundamental human emotions. While the emotion is universal, the foods that we find disgusting are not,” it says. “What is delicious to one person can be revolting to another. Disgusting Food Museum invites visitors to explore the world of food and challenge their notions of what is and what isn’t edible. Could changing our ideas of disgust help us embrace the environmentally sustainable foods of the future?”

Do U dare to smell the world’s stinkiest cheese?

The museum is a pop-up from December 9th unril February 17th at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum Downtown.
