An evening celebrating the centenary of the classic cocktail...

To mark 100 years of the classic Negroni cocktail, for one night only Bar 45 at the Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane welcomes Mario Fasano and Daniele Confalonieri from its sister properties in Italy (the birthplace of the famous drink), as they host an Italian Negroni night for on Friday 18 October.

Hotel Eden’s Fasano and Hotel Principe di Savoia’s Confalonieri are flying in to London from Rome and Milan respectively, and join the hotel’s bar manager Francesco Orefici to lead you through the history of the famous cocktail and showcase their renowned take on the Negroni for the occasion.

Negroni is an iconic cocktail first created in 1919 at Caffè Casoni in Florence. Count Camillo Negroni always ordered The American, a drink consisting of Campari, Vermouth and soda water. The Negroni was born when he asked his bartender to replace the soda water with gin.
