Must Visit Restaurants in Los Angeles

Hotel Figueroa's Chef Concierge, Fredo Vita, handpicks his favourite must-visit dining destinations in L.A.

Spago Beverly Hills

My favorite spot to go to. Chef Wolfgang Puck’s seasonal menu draws from California Cuisine within a revamped space. The food is not only the best, presentation is key but the flavors and the dedication to presentation and impeccable service at this restaurant is sure to drive this restaurant to new heights in the age of restaurants who just don’t make it in LA. My personal favorite spot to dine at is the patio. Orsa & Winston

An experience in DTLA like no other. Italian and Asian… need I say more? The merging of taste by the Chef in Omakase style is enough to appreciate this restaurant but the flavors in your mouth and the casual yet upscale setting is the perfect location for a date or to catch up with a friend you haven’t talked to in a long time.

Jones in West Hollywood

My classic go to. The food is on par, the vibe of the bar and the music can get loud but it’s a perfect spot to get a late night eat, some good wine and top of with a night cap at the bar. Closes at 2am but the menu is served way past midnight for all the night owls. My personal favorite is the Carbonara pasta - I day dream about it sometimes.

Ruen Pair

Located in LA’s Thai Town district this restaurant, open till 4am daily, serves some of the best Thai-Chinese fusion cuisine. Great quality and value. I have been going here for over ten years. Some notable dishes are the ‘Morning Glory’ with crispy pork belly (heaven). The small restaurant has communal seating. Long lines at 2am after the clubs and bars let out can mean a wait time but who has time at 2am to go elsewhere when everything is closed, except for some fast food options.

Gjelina

Discovered this restaurant before the long wait times for a table were made unbearable. Patience is a virtue when the food, the ambiance, and the people watching off of Abbot Kinney on any given night can be just what the doctor ordered. The veggie selection is gargantuan, and the seafood lover will have a field day.

Fredo Vita is the Chef Concierge at the iconic Hotel Figueroa - one of the longest-standing hotels in Downtown Los Angeles. Following a two-year restoration inspired by its original 1926 Spanish Colonial splendor, the hotel has re-emerged as a sophisticated and singularly storied haven in L.A.’s cultural epicenter.
