The Chimney Lift at Battersea Power Station

A glass elevator will travel 109 metres to the top of one of the iconic chimneys, offering unrivalled views of the capital's skyline from one of the most unique viewing platforms in London.

As part of its renovation of the Giles Gilbert Scott-designed power station, the architecture studio Wilkinson Eyre has designed a glass lift that will rise 109 metres through one of the building's four chimneys.

When it reaches its peak, it will offer 360-degree panoramic views across London. The paid-for attraction will provide (slated to open in 2021) the highest public observation platform in south-west London.
