The Dutch capital has seen a raft of trendy new openings (including The Hoxton and a Waldorf Astoria) and a Soho House should be a terrific addition (when it opens in 2017), to one of the greatest small cities in the world.
Soho House Amsterdam is to be housed in the six-storey Bungehuis building on the Spuistraat. The purchase and renovation of the property is rumored to be costing $50 million.
The (main) Club space will be located on the top floor, with an ‘atmosphere of a hotel lobby’. Furthermore Soho House Amsterdam will offer a gym, a screening room (small movie theatre), a games room, and a restaurant for members, 79 hotel rooms, a library and a roof terrace.
On the ground floor, and open to the public, will be Cecconi’s – Nick Jones’s version of a modern day classic Italian restaurant (well known from its outposts in London, West Hollywood and Miami). In addition the ground floor will also host a Spa & Wellness centre from Soho’s own concept ‘The Cowshed’.
