Prior to his stint at Quality Eats, Bartlow worked at Frankie’s Spuntino, Grant Achatz’s Alinea and at the James Beard award-winning Frenchette as well as a stage at the famed San Sebastian’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant Akelarre. Expect plenty of traditional Basque pintxos and dishes, such as clams and rice and chicken croquettes with caviar - perfect for pairing with the natural wines. The space - at 259 East Broadway - features with exposed brick walls, chairs with leather cushioning, and large windows that overlook Montgomery Street.
Line-caught baby squid served a la plancha with a squid ink sauce; morcilla en croute; fried hake with roasted peppers; salt cod in a Basque pepper sauce, and rice with rabbit and snails.
