Ernesto’s by Ryan Bartlow

A Basque restaurant from chef Ryan Bartlow, formerly of restaurants such as Quality Eats and Alinea.

Prior to his stint at Quality Eats, Bartlow worked at Frankie’s Spuntino, Grant Achatz’s Alinea and at the James Beard award-winning Frenchette as well as a stage at the famed San Sebastian’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant Akelarre. Expect plenty of traditional Basque pintxos and dishes, such as clams and rice and chicken croquettes with caviar - perfect for pairing with the natural wines. The space - at 259 East Broadway - features with exposed brick walls, chairs with leather cushioning, and large windows that overlook Montgomery Street.

Signature Dishes

Line-caught baby squid served a la plancha with a squid ink sauce; morcilla en croute; fried hake with roasted peppers; salt cod in a Basque pepper sauce, and rice with rabbit and snails.
