The revemped place is named after regulars’ nickname for the cafe and the new owners are determined to keep the spirit of the popular neighborhood spot- even keeping the orange and blue exterior and Elvis bust in the window. Similar in size and scope to his West Village establishments - which includes restaurants like Fairfax and Joseph Leonard. The new look - features white walls with exposed wood, French decorative touches and laid-back bohemian vibe.
Jack Harris, Executive Chef at Stulman’s Fairfax and Bar Sardine, is in the kitchen with a menu inspired by Clamato, a trendy Paris bistronomie restaurant. The emphasis is on vegetables and seafood with casual dishes such as spaghetti with sardines and Manila clams with Cajun barbecue.
