Cathédrale by Tao Group

A French-Mediterranean restaurant, from Tao Group, with show-stopping interiors in New York's East Village.

Entering Cathédrale’s soaring main dining room feels like stumbling upon an abandoned architectural treasure: its 26-foot, triple-height ceiling is covered in a massive wire mesh sculpture (by Edoardo Tresoldi) that looks like the apparition of a grand domed ceiling. The interiors paying homage to the legendary performance space Fillmore East, once known as the “Church of Rock ‘n’ Roll", and features an open kitchen, a bar area with vintage-style neon signs and an greenery-laced outdoor dining terrace with retractable roof.

Chef Jason Hall (ex Gotham Bar & Grill) serves up French-Mediterranean-inspired coastal cuisine with dishes like Hamachi crudo with green apple and black olive oil, roasted lobster with wild oregano, lemon and parsley butter and a 30-Day dry-aged ribeye Steak au Poivre.
