5 Must Visit Places in St. Moritz by Oliver Corkhill

Urbanologist Oliver Corkhill, CEO of Leo Trippi - the luxury alpine travel specialist- shares with U his favourite locations in St. Moritz.

CheCha Restaurant & Club

Located at the top of the funicular with breathtaking views, CheCha is headed up by St. Moritz culinary legend Reto Mathis. Notorious for his truffle and caviar creations including a divine truffle pizza and the spectacular Seafood Carousel, CheCha also features regional dishes alongside innovative vegan creations. Those with a sweet tooth should pay a visit to the in-house alpine Patisserie, “Le Cake” for a taste of house specialities such as Checha Heidelbeer Torte and Oliver’s Choco Tarte.

King’s Social House

Said to be the oldest club in Switzerland, King’s Social House at Badrutt's Palace has had a complete makeover and relaunched in December 2018 in collaboration with Michelin-star chef and restaurateur Jason Atherton. A restaurant, bar and nightclub all in one, the “dine and dance” concept has proved popular with guests, who move from exquisite cuisine to buzzing nightlife as the evening progresses. The service, atmosphere and sharing plates encourage a sociable dining experience. Interaction is key with dishes like the flame toasted baked Alaska being prepared before your eyes, whilst Atherton’s table-side “Pork Pie Trolley” brings together British influences with locally sourced produce.

Da Vittorio

Located at the Carlton Hotel, Michelin-starred seasonal restaurant Da Vittorio is the creation of the Cerea brothers Enrico and Roberto, whose restaurant of the same name in the small Italian town of Brusaporto is rated as one of the best in the world. This is authentic Italian cuisine at its very finest with simple pasta dishes elevated to a whole new level.

El Paradiso

At 2,174 metres, restaurant views don’t get much better than those from El Paradiso’s panoramic terraces. With sheepskin-covered sunbeds, this is the perfect spot to soak up the sun for a couple of hours between runs. The menu is a mix of gourmet cuisine and local specialities including fondue and it has an extensive wine list for those who enjoy a tipple or two.

Pavarotti & Friends

This cosy wine and tapas bar situated in downtown St. Moritz is owned by Italian Deny Pavarotti. Surrounded by hundreds of bottles stacked to the ceiling, Pavarotti & Friends has a warm and welcoming ambience with candlelit tables and a small menu of traditional Italian cuisine from pasta to polenta. The highlight though is the impressive wine cellar offering a great selection of wines and champagnes accompanied by fresh bread, parma ham and parmesan cheese.
