Dhamaka

Chef Chintan Pandya of New York’s much lauded Indian restaurant Adda Indian Canteen heads up this Indian dining concept.

Found within the redesigned Essex Street Market on the Lower East Side, Dhamaka is a follow-up to the owners popular restaurants Adda and Rahi. The menu centers on regional Indian home cooking and rustic cuisine, served within a modern, industrial-designed, 60-seat space that includes a 10-seat bar and additional 16 seats outdoors. Expect plates like goat pulao, a Punjabi chicken curry called tariwala murgh, and baida roti, which is an egg-stuffed flatbread that’s a common street food item in Mumbai.
