Journeys around the Mediterranean at Atelier des Lumières

The Atelier des Lumières is dedicating its next immersive digital exhibition to Monet, Renoir and Chagall amongst many others...

The Atelier des Lumières has devoted its next immersive exhibition to portrayals of all things Mediterranean, as cherished by artists such as Monet, Picasso and Klein. More than 500 canvases will be on display, crossing styles from impressionism to modernism - all skillfully set to motion by 140 video projectors hidden away in the impressive space alongside 50 speakers, and a “motion design” sound system that’s programmed to compliment the exhibit’s digitized visuals.

In addition to the museum, the Cutback creative studio will present Yves Klein's Blue Epoch, which echoes this celebration of the Mediterranean with 90 works and 60 animated images along with Vivaldi's lively music. The digital art center, operated by French museum foundation Culturespaces, hosted a wildly successful 2019 exhibition devoted entirely to Vincent van Gogh. Tickets to Journeys around the Mediterranean are priced from $17.
