The Best Drive-in Cinemas

Pitch-up at a nostalgic drive-in setting this summer as drive-in cinemas are pulling into town.

Drive & Dine Theatre

The team behind Pub in The Park, the UK’s biggest food and drink tour, are bringing you the ultimate drive-in theatre experience with the world’s largest mobile HD LED screen - with a delicious twist. Drive & Dine Theatre are screening (at Syon Park and Selhurst Park Stadium) the very best classic and award-winning movies. Think 80’s flicks, all-out action epics and family favourites such as 1917, Aladdin, Jaws, Knives Out and Back to the Future. Pull-up, pop the handbrake on and enjoy the show from the safety and comfort of your own car all whilst tucking into dishes from an exclusive menu curated by Michelin-starred Chef Tom Kerridge - think maple cured bacon cheeseburger, five bean chilli burrito, chicken tikka masala, TKO biscuit cheesecake and millionaire’s chocolate pot.

The Drive-In by Secret Cinema

Secret Cinema, the pioneers of immersive storytelling, are behind a new series of drive-in film screenings - pitching up for The Drive-In shows at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester from July 5 and opens with the aptly racing-themed Rush. Other titles include a mix of family-favourites and crowd-pleasers including Moulin Rouge, Toy Story, Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman with more shows to be confirmed. In true Secret Cinema style expect this to be a drive-in like no other, where the experience revolves around the audience. There's also a pre-show online experience introducing you to the host characters and providing tips on costume inspiration and car makeovers. Expect a specially-created menu inspired by the much-loved American Diner featuring Goodwood organic produce, and of course lots of ice-cream provided by headline partner Häagen-Dazs. Tickets go on pre-sale on 20th June.

Sunset Cinema

Sunset Cinema is also coming to town, pulling into Acton this July. There, you’ll be able to watch films in your car, with the movie shown on a big screen and the sound pumped through your radio. The line-up? Think modern classics like Mamma Mia!, Grease, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Lion King and Joker. All cars will be parked two metres apart, tickets will be scanned through car windows and an all-American menu of Dirty Bones burgers, popcorn, shakes and cocktails served to you in your vehicle. Tickets cost £30 for the parking space plus £10 for each person in the car.
