Dine on a globally inspired American menu, in a sprawling greenhouse-like dining room - hovering just above the bustle of the streets of Soho and Tribeca.

New York hospitality veteran David Rabin (The Lambs Club, Sona) has teamed up with Michelin-starred chef George Mendes to open this Soho restaurant where diners can enjoy Mendes' globally inspired American menu in a sprawling and verdant spacious dining room situated beneath a retractable glass pergola that allows for indoor and outdoor dining experiences year round - located on the second floor of the ModernHaus hotel. Veranda also features several additional indoor and outdoor cocktail areas and patios.

Veranda features Chef Mendes’ renowned food - think seasonal modern American cuisine, but with Mediterranean-influences. Must orders are the salt cod croquettes with smoked paprika mayo, wood-oven baked flatbreads, and whole roasted branzino from the central hearth - served with shaved fennel, zucchini, fennel pollen and preserved lemon-arugula pesto.

With its own separate entrance on 6th Avenue just beyond the dining room, The Back Bar at Veranda offers an outdoor oasis for cocktails, wine, and lite bites by Chef Mendes. Multiple terraces, a fireplace, and abundant greenery make this the perfect spot for a before or after-dinner drink, post-work get-together, or evening bite.

Signature Dishes

Crispy salt cod croquettes with smoked paprika mayo; flatbread with asparagus, peas, jalapeño, lemon thyme, mint, sheep’s milk ricotta; charcoal-grilled Norwegian salmon glazed with caramelized cucumber juice and served with romanesco & shiitake and chicken confit with smoked chorizo, peas & kalamata olives.
