L’Epicerie at Claridge's

A dining destination in the legendary Mayfair hotel, turning what would traditionally be a ‘back of house’ area into a guest facing experiential space. The chef’s table - the centrepiece of the space - is home to private dining, masterclasses, wine dinners and interactive feasts, all overseen by Executive Chef Martyn Nail. Flanked by cast iron pillars from the original Victorian structure, the chef’s table (seating up to 14) is a striking centrepiece crafted from American black walnut alongside soft red leather chairs. A large block of Irish marble separates the table from the kitchens, and acts centre stage for chefs to finish and present dishes to guests. Vintage copper pans and moulds are on display alongside original silver kitchenware that have seen so many years of history at Claridge’s, including the much revered duck à la presse and fish kettle. Private dining menus for lunch and dinner are available from £150 per guest, and interactive experiences at £350 per guest. 

Chef’s Table at The Sea, The Sea

Led by Executive Chef Leo Carreira, the Chef’s Table (in Haggerston) serves an omakase-style tasting menu from its open kitchen - and builds on the legacy set by the Seafood Bar at their original site in Chelsea. Serving just 12 guests per sitting, dining is counter styled within an arched space to create a dynamic, theatrical yet intimate atmosphere. Dishes could include: aged turbot served with with grilled hot dog pods (an extra-sweet variety of pea) and honeycomb tomatoes and the langoustine ‘Wedding Cake’ - a seaweed ‘egg cake’ baked in an artisanal Portuguese pot, seasoned with togarashi and filled with smoked langoustines and a sauce made from their heads. Menus and dishes change regularly in line with the daily catch.

Monarch Theatre at Park Row

The DC-inspired multi-faceted restaurant and bar venue Park Row includes a 20-seat immersive experience called The Monarch Theatre. The unique, multi-sensorial gastronomic experience secreted within the depths of a stunning Grade II listed restaurant on Soho's Brewer Street - comes complete with floor-to-ceiling screens and projection mapping. The £195, 11-course tasting menu is served over the course of three hours, in two “acts” in keeping with the theatrical performance. The food itself blends inventive presentation and luxury ingredients with dishes such as a scallop, oyster, caviar and white chocolate dish topped with gold leaf and a USDA Black Angus tenderloin with truffle with edible jewellery.

The Chef's Table at Hélène Darroze at The Connaught

The haute cuisine restaurant was recently refurbished to give the main dining room a more relaxed, lighter feel and to create space for a brand new chef's table, where diners can watch the kitchen in action. Chefs are also at the helm of the stunning 12-seat Chef’s Table, located under the main dining room and overlooking Hélène’s show kitchen. Overlooking the pass, diners are seated at a pink marble table set on a Terrazzo dais, with stunning ceiling art designed by Rochegaussen and bespoke lamps created by Matteo Gonet for Pierre Yovanovitch. From here, chefs showcase their culinary talents with a bespoke seven course menu, answer questions and personally present the three Michelin Star dishes. French chef Hélène currently holds five Michelin Stars: three at The Connaught in Mayfair and two at Marsan by Hélène Darroze in Paris. 

Kitchen Table London

The critically-acclaimed and twice Michelin-starred restaurant run by husband-and-wife, chef-and-sommelier team James Knappett and Sandia Chang. Inspired by the format of the Michelin triple-starred Brooklyn Fare, this intimate set-up for up to 18 guests only around an open kitchen. The renovated space - features a  seasonally-led cocktail bar and lounge - while Kitchen Table stays a small, intimate and elegant room with interiors embracing the simplicity of Japanese design. Hosted by chef-patron James Knappett (formerly of Per Se, Noma and The Ledbury) to showcase his contemporary modern European cuisine through a daily changing 20 course-tasting menu - dinner only.  Much of the produce used is grown or foraged by Knappett himself, with a heavy focus on seasonal and foraged ingredients.

Evelyn's Table 

An intimate, fine dining venture from Head Chef James Goodyear all alumni of Mayfair's Hide restaurant and Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Mugaritz. The diminutive dining room is tucked away in the basement of The Blue Posts in Soho. The 12-seat kitchen bar serves a monthly evolving menu with an emphasis on British produce, but using French and Japanese cooking techniques with a five-course prix fixe menu priced is currently priced at £120 per person. Dishes could include squid noodles with mushroom dashi, venison with chestnut & sansho, and tarte tartin with clotted cream & miso. Open for two sittings Tuesday through to Saturday, at 6pm then again at 8pm. 

Aulis London 

Now double in size from the original space, the restaurant in St Anne’s Court now seats twelve guests per night (an increase from its original eight) whilst the adjoining lounge provides diners with a relaxed space to enjoy drinks before or after dinner. Aulis’ reimagined interiors bring a homely feel to the central London chef’s table whilst still reflecting Simon Rogan's world-renowned ethos, which stems from the natural environment and Lake District landscape, the home of his three Michelin-starred restaurant L’Enclume and original Aulis chef’s table. As the focal point of the space, Aulis’ newly installed natural stone countertop sets the scene for the dynamic multi-course tasting menu created using ingredients predominantly sourced from Simon’s very own Lake District farm.
