After nearly eight months of restoration, Madison Square Park's legendary Shake Shack returned this summer, with bigger digs and menu newcomers such as the tasty ChickenShack.

The Brooklyn Marching Band kicked off festivities at May's grand opening in Madison Square Park with some loud drums, horns and street dancing to celebrate the return of Shack Shake. Fans had queued since the early hours to get their hit of Danny Meyer's legendary burgers, or a taste of the celebratory ParkBurger - exclusive to this outpost - topped with cave-aged Jasper Hill Farm raw cow’s milk cheese sauce and Niman Ranch applewood smoked bacon. The team also debuted a special collaboration with Brooklyn Brewery, the Shack Phoenix, in honor of their rise from the ashes to its new and improved form. 

Fans are pleased to see they've stayed true to the original in terms of design, just with a bigger space and brand new kitchen. Shake Shack started life as a food cart back in 2000. As the lines grew, it soon expanded and now boast 60+ stores worldwide. Shake Shack’s stock performance since its initial public offering in January has raised Meyer’s personal fortune to more than $600 million, and over the course of the launch alone the stock skyrocketed nearly 10%.
