Justin Bazdarich, the chef and an owner of Oxomoco and Xilonen in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, has partnered with restaurateur John McDonald (Lure Fishbar) to open Bar Tulix. Expect seafood-centric, coastal Mexican cuisine in the new restaurant that replaces McDonald’s Burger & Barrel in SoHo - think crudos, seafood tostadas, whole fish in masa batter and other Baja California specialties. Dine in a moody dining room with jewel-toned banquettes, glossy black walls, and eclectic mid-century seating.

Smoked shrimp chicharron; encrusted tuna with an avocado puree, soy ponzu, and guajillo oil; clam toast with Monopolio garlic ancho butter broth; lobster drizzled with mezcal chili butter and a whole red branzino with a masa crust.
