Benefitting from New York's enthusiasm for foodhalls, Brooklyn's Dekalb Street Market became this 40-vendor hall beneath the City Point development. Big names abound, including Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue (above), Arepa Lady, Forcella, Steve's Ice Cream, and the first outpost of iconic Katz's Deli - A Taste of Katz.
The entire project is the brainchild of by Anna Castellani, the owner of fancy grocery Foragers Market in Dumbo and Chelsea. The market also offers an outpost of Alamo Drafthouse upstairs, a cinema-cum-restaurant brought to NYC from Austin, as well as a Trader Joe's. In addition, The Understudy, a speakeasy style bar serves drinks crafted in collaboration with the vendors, while cultural events take place on the Dekalb Stage.
