The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development at Abraj Kudai, a $3.5bn (£2.25bn) landmark project in Mecca and is set to become the world's largest hotel by room count.
The 10,000 rooms in 12 separate 44-storey towers (only two will offer five-star facilities) and will also house 70 restaurants, full size convention centre, a shopping mall and rooftop helipads. The architecture is set to create an iconic landmark that will reflect a contemporary interpretation of a traditional desert fortress. The entire project will have a 1.4 million square meter footprint.
