MoMA PS1, MoMA's edgier little sister, features often challenging and always thoughtful contemporary art, and this weekly event offers a further exploration of live arts. Over a series of winter Sundays, artists, curators, thinks, and cultural agents will come together to share their latest projects and ideas with the audience, asking how their practice pushes creative thinking and becomes a useful tool for engaging the world. This year they have extended the run all the way into the first week of March, pushing New Yorkers to expand their cultural horizons just that much father.
Past highlights have included everything from a listening session of Wu Tang Clan’s final album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, to a performance by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson featuring US rock band The National. Some of the featured Sundays this year include a multi-week in-depth look at gender, technology and music. Sessions take place in the VW Dome in the front yard of PS1.
