The mega crews of Ribdiculous Bar-B-Krewe - captained by Shane McBride, executive chef at Balthazar - plus the Salty Rinse BBQ team - run by barbecue master Rob Shawger, Ed McFarland (owner and chef of Ed's Lobster), and Matt Abdoo (chef de cuisine at Del Posto) are at it again in Gowanus. After crushing it last year, showing New Yorkers how BBQ is done right, the all star pitmaster line up is back for another year of smoked and succulent meats.
For the length of the summer, Pig Beach, held in a new 150-outdoor barbecue venue Swan Dive, will be serving up a smoked meat feast from baby back ribs to burgers. Obviously beer is a huge component here, but cocktails and wine are available also.
Pig Beach will open Tuesdays-Thursdays 3pm-10pm, Fridays 3pm-midnight, Saturdays 11am-midnight and Sundays 11am-10pm, weather permitting.
Family hour early and big groups of friends late.
