O Ya

Tim and Nancy Cushman have brought Boston's O Ya to New York. The omakase-style sushi joint is beloved in its hometown, and now it has a sister restaurant inside Gramercy's Park South Hotel.

Since its opening in Boston in 2007, the husband-and-wife team have developed a loyal local following - as well as national recognition - for their original take on omakase. Now, with a second restaurant in Manhattan, New Yorkers will have the chance to sample their creative tasting menus.

The elegant Park South dining room has a long counter, warm lighting, and dark satiny wood. With a chef imported from the Boston original, they offer two options: the "basic" 18-course, two-hour-long tasting menu which will set you back $185, or the "Okii Ringo" (meaning Big Apple) $245, 23-course tasting menu, which incorporates seasonal ingredients. Both have elements of sushi, sashimi, mushrooms, wagyu, and foie gras.
