Anyone for Tennis?

Urbanologie serves up the best places to watch the tennis outdoors as Wimbledon fever comes into town.

Bluebird Chelsea

Bluebird Chelsea introduces its new quintessentially English terrace in time for the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament. What better way to enjoy Wimbledon than relaxing in ‘The English Garden’, designed in partnership with Nyetimber. An outdoor screen has been erected in Bluebird’s iconic courtyard and showing all of the matches live, for two weeks. On Sunday 14th July, Bluebird is celebrating the Men’s Final with a special edition menu (reservations required) with dishes such as watermelon & cucumber salad to an enormous sharing shellfish platter. The Bluebird Café in White City is also getting in on the action - the terrace has been transformed into a summery haven, reminiscent of vibrant strawberry fields and showing the Championships on a big screen whilst sipping on themed cocktails.

Big Screen on the Green

Tickets are now available for Big Screen on the Green hosted at the beautiful sites of Morden Hall Park and Fulham Palace Private Garden during the weekend of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July. Big Screen on the Green features an extensive line-up of live music, pop-up film, combined with a range of quintessentially Summer sporting action - ‘serving up’ the Wimbledon Tennis Championships Finals, highlights of the Cricket World Cup Final and F1 British Grand Prix. With summery cocktails, a Champagne lounge, experiential entertainment, gourmet food, an elegant picnic area, strawberries and cream, it’s the perfect place to bask in the sunshine.

M Restaurants

This year M Restaurants (Victoria, The City & Twickenham) have partnered with Lanson, the official supplier of Wimbledon Champagne to bring you the Wimbledon Champagne Happy Hour(s)! Throughout the two week tournament large screens will be rolled out, with the team decked out in traditional whites and the corks popping as they serve half price Lanson Champagne for the duration of all matches.  On top of this, every time a match goes to ‘Tie Break’ alert the team and you get a glass of bubbles on them!

Coq D'Argent

This summer, Coq D'Argent are screening the Wimbledon tennis matches in their upper terrace - with two big screens available to view the games. Celebrate in style with Tanqueray cocktails and the ultimate Wimbledon treat; British strawberries with white chocolate Chantilly cream. On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16 July to celebrate the finals, they're serving a special Parisian Feast with a welcome Tanqueray cocktail. Enjoy bottomless starters and desserts with a selection of main courses and catch all the tennis actions on their terrace (pre-booking is required).

Skylight

Soaring above the Tobacco Dock in Wapping, Skylight boasts three floors of bars, street food, live entertainment, croquet, pétanque, screens, DJs and an unrivalled view of London’s iconic skyline - with unobstructed views of some of London’s most iconic buildings, including The Shard, The Gherkin and The Walkie Talkie. The rooftop bar themed around a British lawn club with bookable day beds and garden booths, is celebrating Wimbledon and showing all the live action. There are plenty of food and drink options on offer and if you fancy a break between matches, you can play a game of pétanque or croquet.
