The gin brand has transformed the site a of a historic paper mill (used to produce the banknotes for the Bank of England and the British Empire), in a site steeped in natural beauty, into a multi-million pound “state-of-the-art” distillery and visitors’ centre.
The centrepiece of the distillery is a Victorian inspired glass house, featuring two Botanical Glasshouses (pictured) – one tropical and one temperate – displaying the ten handpicked botanicals from all over the world used to create Bombay Sapphire Gin (based on a secret recipe from 1761). Visitors can also explore the rich history of both Laverstoke Mill and Bombay Sapphire within the Heritage Room and Gallery and then browse the limited editions of Bombay Sapphire and cocktail accessories in the Gin Shop. To complete the experience, enjoy a complimentary Bombay Sapphire cocktail in the Mill Bar or on the terrace next to the River Test.
Group outing
In addition to the self-discovery experience (tickets cost £15), the Bombay Sapphire ‘Gin Experts’ run daily in-depth, interactive workshops who pre-book either the Ultimate Gin & Tonic Workshop or the Cocktail Masterclass. You can even try your hand at creating your own signature serves. There is also (throughout the year) a special programme of scheduled interactive events, master classes and behind-the-scenes experiences.
