MoMa Nights

On Thursday evenings throughout the summer, MoMa's galleries stay open late so you can enjoy live music, food and cocktails in The Sculpture Garden.

This refined Thursday night performance series boasts everything from experimental soundscapes to indie rock. The last event relating to the current exhibition - "One-Way Ticket: Jacob Lawrence Migration Series and Other Visions of the Great Movement North" - is this Thursday with the Shenel Johns Quintet, a mix between jazz, soul, R&B and gospel.

In August, MoMa Nights takes a new turn, with a program of buzzworthy bands, including Regal Degal and Lower Dens, ranging from post-punk to electronic. Each evening begins at 5.30pm with a DJ set from Newtown Radio, and seasonal snacks of small plates along with cocktails, beer and wine available for purchase.

If you want to step your evening up a notch, head to Terrace 5, and enjoy a meal from Daniel Jackson while overlooking the action below in the garden. For $20, a dozen oysters and a glass of champagne will make this serious high-brow date territory.

NB. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended.
