Picnic + Jazz at LACMA

Order a custom picnic from Patina Catering and listen to world-class jazz at LACMA every Friday night via the annual Jazz Series.

Summer nights in LA are just about perfect for dining al fresco. Every Friday night through September 25, the annual Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Jazz series kicks off the weekend with a delightful sonic force. Equal to the music are the dining options presented by the museum’s café.

Order ahead for the custom picnic, which comes with a unique perk: a low small table, blanket and pillows set up for guests. Patina Catering is behind the gourmand baskets. The best bet is the Louis ($100/£64): there’s a choice of whole fried or roasted Jidori chicken accompanied by sides like the Chinese-style past salad. A generous cheese and charcuterie board comes in the wicker basket as does a bottle of signature Patina house Chardonnay or Merlot. The free concert lasts from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday.
