TikiTabu

From the ornate brass pineapple glassware and tiki cocktails to the tropical foliage and surf pin up collages, this is Hawaiian kitsch at its most fabulous. Don a lei and get involved.

Back again for another summer of pretending to be in paradise, this indoor-outdoor bar atop the roof of SIXTY Lower East Side has returned, bringing you a taste of tropi-cool in the city center. Esteemed bartender Jim Kearns (Happiest Hour, Pegu Club, Death & Co.) and veteran restauranteur Jon Neidich (Acme, Tijuana Picnic) are behind the scenes here, delivering on the frozen daiquiris, pina coladas, and party spirit.

Like so many of the team's other venues, this is a play den for the young and pretty folk of the city, with DJs getting the dancing going by night. Or for a more low key evening, share a plate of wasabi honey chicken wings alongside a cocktail (we like to choose by glassware) and admire the Manhattan views in the distance.

This year has had a slight make over from New York-based designer Misha Kahn featuring whimsical furniture and oversized hand-blown lava lamps, plus brightly colored wallpaper, plater boxes and more, which borders the line between fashion and function.

Get involved until the end of September.
