Michael Caines Heads to Abu Dhabi

Renowned and Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines is set to launch his first restaurant outside the UK next month with the opening of Pearls by Michael Caines in the United Arab Emirates.

Following the recent approval of his plans for Caines’ “dream” hotel (where he was granted permission to transform Courtlands House in Lympstone, Devon, into a luxury hotel and restaurant), Caines hinted at opening a restaurant in the UAE, while visiting to participate in the Gourmet Abu Dhabi food festival.

The new restaurant, Pearls by Michael Caines will be located in the 382-bedroom Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi.

Caines is currently continuing in his role as executive chef at the two Michelin-starred restaurant at Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon, where he has been since 1994. In 2006 he was awarded an MBE for services to cooking.

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers currently has 11 food and beverage outlets covering a variety of cuisines including French, Italian, Lebanese and Japanese.
