The Arts Club, Mayfair
One of the oldest and most established arts venues in London, the Arts Club has successfully reinvented itself as THE go-to place for fine dining amongst contemporary art, with permanent collection boasting works by the likes of Matthew Day Jackson, Albert Oehlen and George Condo. Its exhibitions and events programme, run by Amelie von Wedel and Pernilla Holmes, is as well-curated as its menu, and their 1863 nightclub doubles up as a venue for serious-minded and illuminating talks.
Sketch, Mayfair
One of the trailblazers when it comes to fusing food and art, Mourad Mazouz (aka Momo) conceived Sketch as a multi.media platform dor rotating guest artists and special commissions. Previous collaborations have seen David Shrigley redesign the restaurant and Martin Creed create vibrant gastro-brasserie within the venue. Sketch is currently offering a three course Gourmet lunch in theur two-Michelin-starred Lecture Room & Library plus an exhibition ticket for Ai Weiwei at the Royal Academy for a mere £49 (per person).
12 Hay Hill, Mayfair
Mayfair´s newest club –the most luxurious space in London to do business- has appointed House of the Nobleman as its in-house curator. Part private dealership, part art consultancy, House of the Nobleman is perhaps best known for the stunning exhibitions it curates over international art fairs, so we´re excited to see what they will create now they will create now they have a home in this impressive building just off Berkeley Square.
Art is in the heart of all of Mark Hix´s restaurants. The original YBA bad boy is both an avid collector and keen supporter of emerging artists, opening his CNB (Cock´n´Bull) Gallery under Tramshed in 2012. Look out for works by Sarah Lucas, the Chapman Brothers, and of course Damien Hirst whilst you sample Nick Strangely´s wittily named cocktails.
Scotts´s, Mayfair
One od the most handsome restaurants in London, this bastion of Mayfair boasts an equally refined collection of contemporary art. Featuring works by Michael Landy, Polly Morgan and Tracey Emin, with many pieces especially created for the restaurants. Look out for Gary Hume´s ´Bouquet´and ´Yoko XII´by Don Brown, Saturday morning art tour of their Mayfair restaurants.
