Taste of the Eastside

The East Side has long been giving the West Side a run for its money when it comes to diversity in restaurants. This annual event celebrates East LA's vibrant dining scene like no other.

Now in its seventh year, Taste of the Eastside will take place at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, a mission-style villa providing a spectacular backdrop for more than 30 established and up-and-coming restaurants.

On hand will be established restaurants such as Los Feliz institution Little Dom’s as well as Atwater neighborhood favorite Bon Vivant and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, while some of the new but familiar names joining this year will be Go Get Em Tiger Coffee, Silverlake’s new Chinese Kitchen Fat Dragon, WOOD pizzeria, New American favorite Red Herring and for those sweet tooth lovers, FrankieLucy Bakeshop and McConnell's Fine Ice Creams.

And of course, no food festival is complete without booze: partners include Silver Lake Wines, Mohawk Bend and Greenbar Craft Distillery. El Segundo BrewingHighland Park Brewery and State Brewing.

KCRW DJ’s Anthony Valadez and Garth Trinidad will be there spinning tunes in addition to music from DJ duo Playground and live music from Best Western.

And it’s all in the name of a good cause, with the primary beneficiary and organizer of the event being Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School, LA’s oldest co-op for kids.
