How do you start your day? I wake up early, and then my husband Derek and I meditate for 20 minutes. We’ve been doing this for a year and we love it. Then we feed the dogs and I have two cups of coffee. Afterwards, I’ll go the gym and answer my emails. I always drink a protein shake to fuel up, and then I shower, shave, put on my signature suit, and head out the door.
Leisurely lunch go-to? Sushi.
Favorite way to pass an afternoon in New York? On the weekends, I always take one day totally off – it’s good for the brain and the heart. On Saturday afternoon, I just like to walk. It sounds silly, but I’m always in the car, so I like to walk and feel all the different weather and conditions in NYC. I like to go to different neighborhoods – I love SoHo in the afternoon.
Favorite New York landmark, and why? I have had different favorite landmarks at different phases in my life, but right now it’s The Empire State Building. I have the best view of it from my apartment, and I can look straight at it from my bed. My apartment is high up, so I get a different angle than from the ground. It feels like I’m looking into its eyes and seeing the changing colors – and it feels like I’ve arrived.
Drink of choice and favourite cocktail hangout? My drink of choice is a green tea latte with no sugar and six scoops of matcha. I don’t drink hard liquor; my go-to is rosé wine, even in the winter.
Favourite dining destination, and why? ABC Kitchen; I know the manager and I’ve been going since it opened. I also just discovered Waverly Inn, and I love the feeling there and the food. I hate loud restaurants, and it’s not too loud, so I can just go and talk to the people I love. I’m having my team holiday party there.
Where next on your travels? I’m going to Sweden for the holidays, and then I’m taking my whole family to the Maldives. It feels so great that I’m finally able to fly my whole family.
