Pizzeria Sirenetta

Rustic Italian fare and neopolitan pizza with a Brooklyn vibe in the Upper West Side.

Pizzeria Sirenetta is an Italian restaurant from Danny Abrams and Cindy Smith of The Mermaid Inn. Sitting right next to their Upper West Side location, this laid back rustic number focuses on Neopolitan-style pizzas with very thin crusts that are flash baked and loaded with toppings, along with classic regional Italian dishes. This new concept in cuisine comes from consulting chef Danny Amend, previously of Franny’s and Marco’s.

They’ve really pulled out the stops here, with a special 4,000-pound wood-fired oven that required a full retrofit of the floor and retaining wall to keep it in place. There’s lots of white tiles and exposed light fixtures, aiming to bring the Brooklyn vibe to the UWS, keeping things comfortable and easy. The semi-open kitchen adds a really nice buzz and gives a great focal point.
