Llama Inn

See and be seen in this "New York Peruvian" restaurant from ex Eleven Madison Park and Raymi chef.

Blue bricks, massive glass windows and a carved wooden door give up as much information as it hides. Llama Inn, from Jersey-born first-generation Peruvian chef Erik Ramirez, is open and inviting, balancing that divide between traditional and hipster allowing Brooklynites and beyond to taste the exotic while still finding comfortable bits to roll them through. Ramirez previously spent time at Eleven Madison Park and as executive chef as Raymi understands the delicate balance of favours in a gorgeous way.

Described as "New York Peruvian," this is the kind of place to be part of the scene. The windows offer some seriously top notch viewing moments, and inside is equally buzzy, as if it's about to go to the next level but always leaving you with the feeling of anticipation. It's all stripped back and easy here, with beautiful food that still looks like it came from a humans hands served on roughly made plate ware. This is the place to go with friends - you'll end up sharing most of the dishes anyway between the small plates and the large format ones. Ramirez likes to play with texture, so be ready to find unusual, if not entirely authentic, contrast within each bite. The bar, an island number in the main space, is as much a draw as the restaurant with plenty of Pisco hanging out on the menu, plus their coffee offering easily matches the quality of the food.
